About The Teacher

My name is Kerry Stewart. I am trained in the Pilates Institute method of Pilates which focuses on the deep postural muscles of the trunk to decrease the liklihood of back injury, improve posture and increase muscle tone. I have been trained by Hanson Pilates based in Livingston.

In my previous office job I would often feel back pain at the end of the day and I thought I would give Pilates a go. The daunting thing about the first class is it made me realise how bad my spine mobility was! It was ok though as other class members were the same. I actually enjoyed seeing the same people every week in the class. The moves were challenging but I took it at my own pace. After about 6 weeks of going to the class I felt the benefits of the exercises that I had been spending time on in the classes. When I felt back ache after work I knew what would fix it would be a good session of pilates!

Overall I like pilates because its a great way to exercise whilst also relax!
